Association of Black Psychiatrists UK – Registered Charity Number: XXXXXXX
We diagnose, prevent, study, and treat mental disorders
Advancing excellence in psychiatric practice and promoting health equity through advocacy, education, and community-focused clinical care for Black communities across the United Kingdom.
The Association of Black Psychiatrists UK unites, develops and champions psychiatrists of Black heritage and all who share our commitment to their success, building a stronger profession and better mental health outcomes for the communities we serve.
The ABP-UK stands as a cornerstone of medical excellence, dedicated to addressing the unique challenges faced by Black mental health professionals and the patients they serve. We foster a community of practice that integrates clinical rigor with cultural competence.
ABPUK is the professional home for psychiatrists of Black ancestry practising across the United Kingdom. We bring together students, trainees, SAS doctors and consultants around a shared commitment to clinical excellence, mentorship and representation.
Since our founding in 2020, we have grown into a trusted voice within UK psychiatry, working alongside the Royal College of Psychiatrists, the NHS and allied organizations to strengthen the profession from within and to improve outcomes for the patients and communities we care for.
“To understand the mind, one must first understand the spirit of the community it inhabits.”
